HEDGEROWS
Hedgerows are of great importance across the UK, in our
towns and cities as well as in the countryside. However, in most places there
is remarkably little information on how many hedges there are, or about their
composition or structure, let alone their condition. As a result, it is often
difficult to make informed decisions about what needs to be done to conserve
these ‘green veins’ for the future. A Handbook has been produced which is
designed to help fill this gap in knowledge through providing a practical way
of carrying out surveys to a standard format.
