Planning permission is not
required for:-
The
erection on the site of any school, college, university or hospital of any
building required for use as part of, or for a purpose incidental to the use
of, the school, college, university or hospital as such, as the case may be.
Development is not allowed if
- The building is not for the purposes of
providing education or any medical or health services.
- The total of any buildings to be erected
would exceed 10% of the total floor space of the original school, college,
university or hospital building on the site.
- The cumulative total of the cubic content of
buildings erected would exceed 250 cubic metres.
- Where any part of the building to be erected
is within 20metres of the site boundary.
- Where land used as a playing field is no
longer available for that purpose because of the development.
AND
- On article 1(5) land [sensitive sites] any
materials used are similar in appearance to the existing buildings.
- The floorspace / cubic content calculations
take into account all existing buildings previously erected.
