HOW DO I
APPEAL?
When the Enforcement
Notice is served the Council will provide copies of the appropriate Appeal
Forms provided for the purpose. This will be accompanied by an advisory booklet
and an addressed envelope to the correct department.
Having completed the form and
the spare copy, send to the department as quickly as possible. Mark any
envelopes 'ENFORCEMENT NOTICE APPEAL' in the top left-hand corner.
If you haven't got an appeal
form or cannot obtain one in time, you may appeal by way of a letter setting
out your name, address, the name and address of the local authority involved
together with a brief description of the land. A ordnance map of the property
may be a useful addition.
ENSURE YOUR LETTER IS CLEARLY
MARKED 'ENFORCEMENT NOTICE APPEAL' and enclose a copy of the notice(s)
you are appealing against.
The same time limits apply
to any form of enforcement notice appeal. It must be received in time. [link]
If you have not stated your grounds
of appeal then you will be asked to provide these within 14 days of the
request.
